Abstract

This study aims to examine the historical trajectory of cheering practices in Brazil, investigating the processes that led to the consolidation of the fan figure, with a special focus on organized fan groups and the most significant conflicts that occurred both nationally and internationally. The analysis encompasses social, cultural, and economic aspects, seeking to understand primarily how violence among supporters has influenced public perception and driven the creation of regulations to address the issue. To this end, bibliographic, legislative, and press sources were utilized, with the newspaper A Tribuna being the main reference.
