Sistema de conforto e o tráfico sexual internacional de mulheres no Japão: uma correlação entre as duas problemáticas

Abstract

The Comfort System, which was a sexual slavery scheme institutionalized by the Japanese government during its imperialist expansion, made foreign women, the so-called "comfort women", victims. Similar to their situation, there are currently a large number of trafficked women in that country, whose activity for which they were trafficked revolves around sexual exploitation. This scenario of proximity between the aforementioned practices leads to the problem of this research, that is, the possible reverberation of the Comfort System in Trafficking in Persons, especially Women. And, to answer this question, the hypothesis with which we work is that there is a direct connection between the two phenomena, since the nature of the crimes is similar, in addition to the fact that there is a certain inefficiency on the part of the Japanese government in the fight against both. To develop this research, we used the hypothetical-deductive methodology of approach, the descriptive and explanatory methods of analysis of objectives, and the bibliographic and documental techniques of research procedure. At the end of the work, it was concluded that both the Comfort System and the international trafficking of people are part of a cycle linked to the culture and sex industry in Japan, which is not recent.
