Logística reversa de resíduos sólidos: uma revisão acerca dos desafios e alternativas para o desenvolvimento sustentável

Abstract

The consumption pattern and the economic development model originated from the Industrial Revolution were accentuated as a result of the improvement in the technological means of production and communication. These advances, in turn, have led to the transformation of the relationship between man and nature. The extraction and use of natural resources have been intensifying without considering the fact that they are finite resources and that even renewable resources can be impacted. Therefore, sustainable development is essential to ensure the proper management of natural resources in order to prevent their depletion and thus enable present and future needs to be met. In view of the aforementioned problematization, the objective of this study is to present challenges that hinder or prevent the correct disposal of recyclable waste and alternatives to make this disposal simpler and more practical. To this end, a systematic literature review was conducted using the CAPES database as a search platform and delimiting the period between the years 2010 and 2022, since 2010 refers to the year in which the National Solid Waste Policy came into force. The analysis of the selected articles provided knowledge about the reality of certain market segments and subsequently challenges and alternatives were raised using other mechanisms in order to complement the results obtained through the methodology adopted. Finally, the mapping including different solid wastes enabled the proposition of initiatives of universal character, which contemplate public and private spheres and have the potential to benefit the market and society as a whole, favoring the achievement of sustainable development.
