Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas na Educação de Jovens e Adultos

Abstract

This research study aimed to investigate the motivations and reactions of students in the classes of youth and adult education (EJA) to the questions of the Brazilian Mathematical Olympics of public schools (OBMEP). For this, an investigation was carried out in a school of the federal public education network, with classes from 6th to 9th elementary School in the aforementioned teaching modality, in the city of Uberlândia, in the state of Minas Gerais. Methodologically, planned and organized workshops were offered, proposing the participation of these students to prepare for the OBMEP tests. The workshops were aimed at encouraging them with mathematics, through research on the selection and resolution of issues of the OBMEP database. With this work, significant results were obtained in relation to the reactions of the EJA in view of the related activities, verified through the analysis of answers to the questionnaires.
