Abstract

The text is a reflection about the existence of the body through the singular experience of being a resident. I considered the contributions of the existential phenomenology, and as a means to describe the narration, the "self-writing" proposed by Foucault, considering that writing about yourself engenders a way to self appropriation and of your own world. The body is the bridge between living and affections that pass through existence, it is the way the subject recognizes yourself and is constituted in the world. It is openness to everything that comes to us. The experience of being a resident is intense and transformative. I sought to understand how my body was instituted in the care process - body-resident that is affected and is permeated by all the experiences of the subjects taken by the hardships of illness.
