As principais dificuldades acadêmicas dos(as) discentes bolsistas do curso de serviço social da UFU campos Pontal

Abstract

The research entitled "THE MAIN ACADEMIC DIFFICULTIES OF THE SCHOLARS OF THE SOCIAL SERVICE COURSE OF UFU-CAMPUS PONTAL" aims to know the main academic difficulties of the scholarship students of the social service course interviewed Campus Pontal. The specific objectives of the research were: to analyze the trajectory of Education in Brazil, especially in higher education, to reflect on the conception of Education for Social Work, as well as on the attributions, competencies and performance of the social worker in the Institution of Higher Education; to know the Program of Student Assistance of the Federal University of Uberlândia and to outline the profile of the scholars interviewed of the Course of Social Service of FACES. The research was carried out in a quantitative and qualitative approach. The present study assumes that the difficulty faced by the students of the Social Work course is restricted to the financial field, so that these students cannot stay in the institution only with the aid, needing to reconcile their academic life with their professional life , which interferes significantly in their academic performance. Being the presupposition partially confirmed in this research, since the results obtained in this research evidenced that the main academic difficulties of the students interviewed were not only financial, but also difficulties of adaptation, since many of these students are of origin of another city, never lived alone and away from the family, also showed that the academic difficulty related to learning is related to the deficiency of their studies in high school. The profile of the students interviewed pointed out that the majority of the students interviewed are female, are between 22 and 24 years old, have a single marital status, do not have children, are in the 4 And 8th academic period, are not included in the labor market, declare themselves Afrodescendant (pardos and blacks), entered the University through the SISU in the mode of ample competition, are not natural of the municipality of Ituiutaba MG, they already knew the that their knowledge of the campus student assistance program was through another student who was already assisted by the program and that the aid most accessed by the students interviewed was the transportation aid.
