| Summary: | Esta investigação tem como principal objetivo esclarecer o impacto da disputa pelas Ilhas Senkaku (Diaoyu) sobre as relações Japão-China. Nesse sentido, empreende-se, primeiramente, uma abordagem teórica sobre o conceito de território e sobre qual seu papel em contendas entre Estados. A partir disso, parte-se para um estudo do histórico da disputa em questão e de suas consequências no âmbito das relações entre Japão e China. Conclui-se que a contenda tem gerado fortes tensões no âmbito político, provavelmente sendo ela a maior fonte de tensão entre Tóquio e Pequim. |
| Abstract: | This investigation has as central goal to shed light on the impact of the dispute over the Senkaku (Diaoyu) Islands on Japan-China relations. In this sense, first, I carry out a theorical approach about the concept of territory and its role in interstate disputes. From this, I set out to a study of the history of the dispute and its consequences on the framework of Japan-China relations. I conclude that the dispute has spawned strong tensions in the political framework, probably being the biggest source of tension between Tokyo and Peking. |
