Resumo
Sob a ótica de Habermas, é possível analisar como a fragmentação da esfera pública e a ascensão das redes sociais nos últimos anos tornaram-se elementos centrais no sistema político global, acelerando a circulação de informações, verdadeiras ou falsas, de forma quase instantânea. No contexto político, essas plataformas passaram a ser ferramentas estratégicas, especialmente para a extrema direita global, que emprega as diferentes noções de fake news, para deslegitimar fontes tradicionais de conhecimento e criar realidades paralelas. Esse artigo propõe uma análise da relação entre a política externa de Jair Bolsonaro, a internacionalização dessas notícias fabricadas e seus impactos estruturais na esfera pública, tendo em vista a ascensão ideológica da extrema direita facilitada pelo surgimento de novas mídias, concentrando-se na investigação crítica dos discursos proferidos pelo presidente em contextos internacionais e dos comentários em redes sociais.
Abstract
From a Habermasian perspective, it is possible to analyze how the fragmentation of the public sphere and the rise of social media in recent years have become central elements in the global political system, accelerating the spread of information—whether true or false—almost instantaneously. In the political context, these platforms have become strategic tools, especially for the global far right, which employs various notions of fake news to delegitimize traditional sources of knowledge and construct parallel realities. This article proposes an analysis of the relationship between Jair Bolsonaro’s foreign policy, the internationalization of these fabricated narratives, and their structural impacts on the public sphere, considering the ideological rise of the far right enabled by the emergence of new media. It focuses on a critical investigation of the president’s speeches in international settings and the accompanying discourse on social media.
