Abstract

The research examines anxiety, faith, and love as central elements in Søren Kierkegaard's philosophy, highlighting their dialectical relationship in the pursuit of authentic existence. Anxiety, described as the "dizziness of freedom," reveals the tension between the finite and the infinite, placing the individual before the necessity of choosing among existential possibilities. This freedom, however, does not guarantee correctness but opens the door to error, making anxiety an inevitable and constitutive condition of human existence. Faith emerges as a response to anxiety, requiring a "qualitative leap" that transcends reason and embraces paradox, as exemplified in the narrative of Abraham's sacrifice. Faith is not rationally justified but operates in a higher sphere, where the singular becomes superior to the universal. Love, in turn, harmonizes the tensions between finitude and infinitude, temporality and eternity, enabling the overcoming of despair. Kierkegaard emphasizes that authentic existence is only achieved when the individual integrates these concepts, living in a direct and subjective relationship with the Absolute. It is in the Moment, a qualitative instant that synthesizes the temporal and the eternal, that faith becomes possible, demanding a decision that transcends human logic. In summary, anxiety, faith, and love form a continuous dialectic, inviting the individual to transcend their limits and seek, through faith and love, a full and meaningful existence.
