O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso busca fornecer uma análise sobre a United Nations
Office for Project Services (UNOPS) em relação ao gerenciamento de projetos internacionais.
Inicialmente, são abordados os aspectos relevantes sobre a Organização das Nações Unidas
(ONU), incluindo seu panorama geral e histórico no pós-guerra, a Assistência Oficial ao
Desenvolvimento e a confecção do modelo tripartite da organização internacional. Em
seguida, é realizada uma apresentação introdutória sobre o papel da Joint Inspection Unit of
the United Nations System (JIU) proporcionando uma compreensão inicial da necessidade e
importância dessa entidade dentro do contexto da UNOPS. Após esse panorama geral inicial,
é feita uma explanação detalhada sobre a UNOPS, abrangendo sua história, mandato,
objetivo, missão, estrutura e serviços oferecidos. Outrossim, após compreender a estrutura e
organização da UNOPS, busca-se examinar o campo de gerenciamento de projetos e sua
projeção no cenário internacional. Por fim, são feitas reflexões que visam evidenciar o papel
da UNOPS em relação a ONU e suas especificidades e, também, sua relação com os pontos
específicos do gerenciamento de projetos internacionais. Não obstante, busca-se fornecer um
panorama geral e inicial sobre o tema para futuras pesquisas dentro do campo.
Abstract
The present undergraduate thesis aims to provide an analysis of the United Nations Office for
Project Services (UNOPS) in relation to international project management. Initially, relevant
aspects of the United Nations (UN) are addressed, including its overall panorama and
post-war history, Official Development Assistance, and the formulation of the tripartite
model. Subsequently, an introductory exposition is conducted on the role of the Joint
Inspection Unit of the United Nations System (JIU), providing an initial understanding of the
necessity and importance of this entity within the context of UNOPS. Following this initial
overview, a detailed explanation of UNOPS is presented, encompassing its history, mandate,
objectives, mission, structure, and services provided. Furthermore, after comprehending the
essence of UNOPS, the examination focuses on the role of project management in the
international arena and its projection. Finally, reflections are made to highlight the role of
UNOPS in relation to the UN, its specificities, and its connection to specific aspects of
international project management. Moreover, this study seeks to provide an initial
comprehensive overview of the topic for future research in the field.
