O curador ferido: o encontro analítico psicólogo-paciente na atuação hospitalar

Abstract

The hospital environment is still marked by the predominance of the biomedical model that advocates objectivity and neutrality of the healthcare professional in the act of care. Understanding that the healthcare professional establishes a transferential relationship with the patient during his hospitalization and treatment, the following question arises: in his performance is it possible for the psychologist, in the hospital context, to ignore his subjectivity and what affects him during treatment and analytical meeting with the patient? Based on this, the present article aimed to understand the implications of transference and countertransference aspects in the patient-psychologist relationship. Through reports of the researcher's experience, these reports were articulated with Jungian theory and the concept of the archetypal image of the wounded healer for the construction of this article. It is concluded that it is not possible to neglect the professional's subjectivity, being the transference aspects inherent to the treatment, comprising countertransference as a tool in psychotherapeutic treatment and a transforming component for both the patient and the professional.
