Esse estudo teve como objetivo caracterizar e definir os graus de vulnerabilidade ambiental,
causados pela expansão urbana na Bacia Hidrográfica do Córrego das Guaribas, em
Uberlândia-MG. Em um primeiro momento, identificamos os atributos físicos da bacia, por
meioda análise de imagens de satélites e visitas ao local, além de definir a dinâmica do uso e
ocupação das terras, de modo a permitir a avaliação da existência de conformidade do uso
com a legislação ambiental e com o tipo de relevo, materiais rochosos e solos encontrados
dentro da área da bacia. A bacia abrange parte da área urbana e rural de Uberlândia - MG. A
análise do uso da terra nos anos de 1979, 1997, 2007, 2009, 2011 e 2013 indicou que a
vegetação natural perdeu espaço inicialmente para a agricultura e, posteriormente a
agricultura perdeu espaço para a pastagem, sendo que esta representa o tipo de uso e ocupação
predominante dentro do limite da bacia na atualidade. No que se refere à expansão urbana, foi
possível verificar que desde 1979, algumas áreas da bacia, já estavam sendo preparadas para
esse tipo de uso; em 1997 a ocupação urbana passou a ser o terceiro tipo de uso e ocupação do
solo mais identificado dentro da área da bacia e, o segundo, a partir de 2007. Os mapas de
vulnerabilidade ambiental indicaram que, no geral, a bacia do Córrego das Guaribas,
considerando as suas várias características naturais, apresenta uma predisposição a níveis de
vulnerabilidade relativamente altos, os quais foram intensificados com a presença humana
próxima ao córrego.
Abstract
This study was carried out to characterize and define the degree of environmental
vulnerability, caused by urban sprawl in the watershed of the stream Guaribas in Uberlândia -
MG. At first, we identify the physical attributes of the basin, through analysis of satellite
images and field visits, as well as defining the dynamics of the use and occupation of land, to
enable the assessment of whether the use of compliance with the environment and the type of
relief, soils and rock materials found within the basin area legislation. The basin covers part of
the urban and rural area of Uberlândia - MG. The analysis of land use in the years 1979, 1997,
2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013 indicated that the natural vegetation lost ground initially for
agriculture and later agriculture has lost ground for grazing, and this is the type of use and
predominant occupation within the limits of the basin today. With regard to urban sprawl , we
found that since 1979 , some areas of the basin , were already being prepared for such use; in
1997 the urban occupation became the third type of use and occupation of most identified soil
within the basin area and the second , from 2007. Environmental vulnerability maps indicated
that, overall, the basin of the stream of howlers, with its distinctive natural features, has a
predisposition to relatively high levels of vulnerability, which were intensified by human
presence near the stream.
