Title: Lacunas no atendimento em saúde e desafios vivenciados pela população em situação de rua
Abstract: The homeless population constitute a social group characterized by multiple vulnerabilities that compromise physical and mental health, in addition to facing barriers in accessing public health services. In this context, the objective of this study was to identify existing gaps in health care for this population. This study is equivalent to a dissertation and is structured as two articles. The first consisted of qualitative research, combining a literature review with experience in a social project with homeless individuals, highlighting that social exclusion is linked to lack of income, weakened family ties, substance abuse, premature aging, and gender inequalities, as well as the fragmentation and inadequacy of public policies. The second article, of an integrative nature, mapped the Brazilian public health system’s response to the needs of this population, identifying weaknesses in the care pathway, a lack of coordination within the network, and insufficient professional qualifications as factors that exacerbate vulnerability. It is concluded that gaps in access to and continuity of health care stem from structural and institutional processes, highlighting the need for intersectoral strategies, professional training, and the strengthening of actions grounded in equity and human rights.

Mulheres vítimas de violência sexual: perfil sociodemográfico e características das agressões

Title: Mulheres vítimas de violência sexual: perfil sociodemográfico e características das agressões
Abstract: Sexual violence is a serious public health problem in Brazil, since the high rates of cases burden the country's public health system and affect people of both genders, different ethnicities, social classes and religions. According to the Brazilian Public Security Yearbook, 47% of victims are women over 14 years of age whose physical and mental health are affected in short, medium and long term. Thus, this research was motivated by the importance of knowing the profile of these women, their sociodemographic characteristics, the nature of the sexual assaults suffered and their attributes, as well as the annual variation of care rates so that public services can adequately accommodate these victims, based on the local reality to adapt assistance protocols. It was carried out at a university hospital in the city of Uberlândia, through a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study, with an exploratory quantitative approach that examined the information contained in physical and electronic medical records and in SINAN files referring to female victims of sexual violence, over 14 years of age, attended at the institution from 2014 to 2020. The research obtained as sociodemographic profile of patients women between 14 and 18 years old, white, with a low level of education and single. Regarding the nature of the reported attacks, the highest rates indicate acute sexual violence, exclusively vaginally, under physical force, without beatings, committed between midnight and six in the morning, by unique and unknown aggressors, mainly in the eastern sector of the city. The annual variation in the number of cases attended fluctuated between 2014 and 2019, with a sudden increase of assaults in 2020, committed mainly by criminals who had some connection with the victim. The research obtained relevant data for improving protocols for assisting victims, supporting and encouraging new research on this topic, and can also be used for ongoing education and awareness-raising among professionals working in the area. The results highlight the need for coordination between health and public safety to reduce rates of sexual violence. It is proposed that more studies focusing on women victims of sexual violence be conducted in other reference institutions so that more effective public safety strategies can be developed and rates of violence against women can be reduced.

Toxoplasmose e sífilis na gestação: um estudo misto e epidemiológico

Title: Toxoplasmose e sífilis na gestação: um estudo misto e epidemiológico
Abstract: This research analyzed toxoplasmosis and syphilis infections in the gestational context in the municipality of Uberlândia (MG), integrating a field study and documentary epidemiological analysis. The objective of this study was to understand the knowledge of pregnant women and nursing professionals about gestational toxoplasmosis and to characterize the sociodemographic, clinical and territorial profile of pregnant women affected by syphilis, identifying temporal and care patterns. This is a mixed, quantitative study. The field research was carried out at the high-risk pregnancy outpatient clinic of the HC/UFU/EBSERH, with seven pregnant women and three nurses. The documentary stage analyzed 1,815 notifications of gestational syphilis registered in SINAN between 2010 and 2024. The results showed weaknesses in health education about toxoplasmosis, with an association between higher education and previous knowledge, although insufficient to ensure adequate preventive practices. Health vulnerabilities in rural territories and heterogeneity in professional knowledge were identified. Regarding gestational syphilis, there was a concentration of cases in young women, predominantly brown and with low education, non-homogeneous territorial distribution and predominance of diagnoses in the third trimester. A high proportion of untreated partners and relevant incompleteness in notifications stood out. It is concluded that both diseases are related to social determinants of health and weaknesses in surveillance and prenatal care, requiring qualification of educational actions and epidemiological records.

A saúde em um centro de reabilitação do SUS criado em caráter emergencial

Title: A saúde em um centro de reabilitação do SUS criado em caráter emergencial
Abstract: Rehabilitation Centers were implemented on an emergency basis during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of these Centers maintained their operation after the health crisis and expanded services, working to meet various rehabilitation demands, such as the Rehabilitation Center in the present study, located in a municipality in the Triângulo Mineiro. The objective of this research was to understand the weaknesses and potentialities of a SUS Rehabilitation Center. The research methodology consists of a mixed, descriptive-exploratory approach, carried out with 24 professionals and 29 users of the Rehabilitation Center. The data collection instruments were two semi-structured interview scripts, with sociodemographic and discursive questions to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the institution from the perspective of the different study samples. The analysis of the quantitative data was with the aid of the statistical software Jamovi, the qualitative data were interpreted in the light of the thematic modality of content, and the triangulation of the data used correlations and statistical associations and narratives. The results were presented in two articles. The first, carried out with the professionals of the Rehabilitation Center, showed the complexity of the work, marked by the diversity of professional categories, qualified professionals, but with infrastructure problems, lack of permanent education, difficulty in articulating in a network and work overload. The second study, carried out with users, showed a sample that was mostly elderly (41.4% between 71–94 years old) and with low education (48.3% with incomplete elementary school), presenting high satisfaction with the service (86.2% very satisfied; 93.1% positive evaluations from the reception; 96.6% positive evaluations from the professionals), although 36.4% of the suggestions for improvement refer to transportation and waiting time. Therefore, by understanding and interpreting the weaknesses and potentialities of the SUS rehabilitation center from the perspective of workers and users, it is concluded that it is a strategic and humanized service, but marked by structural and organizational limitations that require continuous qualification of management, infrastructure and teams to strengthen secondary care.
