Title: Estado nutricional de crianças imigrantes em Uberlândia - MG Abstract: Introduction: Currently, there has been an increase in migration flows to Brazil, driven by wars, natural disasters, and the search for better living conditions, resulting in a rise in the number of immigrants, including children. The health and development of this group may be affected by the migration process due to exposure to food insecurity, conflict, infectious diseases, and a shortage of basic resources. Thus, the study aimed to assess the nutritional status of immigrant children in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted with children aged 2 to just under 7 years old who were served by a non-governmental organization in the municipality.Weight and height were measured, and data such as date of birth, country of birth, and race/ethnicity were obtained through a translated questionnaire completed by the guardian. A descriptive analysis was performed, calculating absolute and relative frequencies. Prevalence comparisons were made using Pearson’s chi-square or Fisher’s exact tests, with a significance level of 5% (p < 0.05). The analyses were performed using SPSS version 21. Results: Thirty children were evaluated, mostly from Venezuela (51.7%), of white race/ethnicity (41.4%), and male (56.7%). Growth delay was identified in 6.7% of the children, and overweight in 26.7%. However, there was no significant association between nutritional status and sex, age, race/ethnicity, or country of birth. Conclusion: Although eutrophism and adequate height are predominant, there are significant nutritional deviations, indicating the need to develop and implement specific measures and public policies aimed at improving the health of this highly vulnerable population.

Title: Análise das ações pró-aleitamento materno de advocacy, vontade política, legislação e financiamento a partir da iniciativa Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly em Uberlândia - Minas Gerais Abstract: Objectives: Analyzer the actions and strategies related to the indicators of Advocacy, Political Will, Legislation and Policy, and Financing and Resources, which make up the cycle of policy and program formulation, according to the criteria of the Breastfeeding Becoming Friendly (BBF) index- and perform their score in Uberlândia, MG. Methods: An exploratory study using the BBF index. The research was composed of a committee with 11 health professionals and key managers linked to the Municipality of Uberlândia. Data collection was carried out between August and December 2025, and this committee was responsible for collecting information and scoring the indicators. Four gears of the BBF index were analyzed: 1. Advocacy (4 indicators); 2. Political will (3 indicators); 3. Legislation and Policy (10 indicators) and 4. Funding and Resources (4 indicators). Based on the sum of points of all the indicators of each gear, the situation of pro-AM public policies in the municipality was classified as: "weak environment for the expansion of pro-AM public policies" (0.1 to 1.0), "moderate environment" (1.1 to 2.0) and "strong environment" (2.1 to 3.0). Results: Two indicators of Advocaçy gear received maximum score and two score of "0" (weak environment). The Political will gear was the only one with the maximum score (3.0), being classified as a strong environment. The Legislation and Policy gear received the maximum score for 7 out of 10 indicators, being classified as a strong environment. All items scored in the maximum way refer to national legislation developed in the municipality. The Financing and Resources gear received the maximum score for one of the indicators and a minimum score for 3 indicators, characterizing a moderate environment. Conclusion: The actions analyzed in Uberlândia are characterized as a moderate environment to improve the BF indicators. Strengthening advocacy and directing funding to pro-AM policies and programs could be actions to make the environment stronger for improvement of ML indicators.

Title: Avaliação da adequação às boas práticas em restaurantes comerciais do município de Uberlândia-MG Abstract: Introduction: In recent years, with the changing lifestyle of the population, an increase in the consumption of food outside the home has been observed, leading to the need for knowledge about the sanitary quality of food offered in commercial restaurants. Aim: To evaluate the adequacy of good practices in commercial restaurants in the municipality of Uberlândia-MG. Method: An observational, cross-sectional study was conducted. Five commercial restaurants, such as self-service restaurants, were randomly selected. To assess compliance with good practices, the checklist of good practices for food services from the Collegiate Board Resolution (RDC 216/2004), which includes 12 evaluation items, was applied. All data were tabulated and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Of the five restaurants evaluated, two presented irregularities. The first restaurant presented a physical space incompatible with the unit's demand, leading to delays in production. The second restaurant, however, presented irregularities related to food storage and production. Three restaurants evaluated showed 100% compliance with good practices. Conclusions: Although we found irregularities in some commercial restaurants, the majority (60%) met the established quality and safety standards, thus guaranteeing food that is safe for the consumer's health.
