The research takes as its object of analysis the works produced — a stage experiment and a film — both based on the short story “Aqueles Dois”, from the book Morangos Mofados, by Caio Fernando Abreu (1982). The study analyzes and documents the differences and similarities in the actor’s creative processes in each medium, through the experimentation of distinct acting techniques. The methodology is characterized as practice-led research, combining theoretical study, experimentation within an acting study group — coordinated by the author — and the practical experience of both theatrical production and film production processes. As theoretical references, the research engages with the studies of Constantin Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg, Thaís Mansano, and Sanford Meisner, the latter serving as the main guiding axis of the investigation. The methodology combined a literature review on the social and historical functions of squares with a qualitative approach structured around two axes: interviews with actors and actresses from local groups, and participant observation during the creation and tour of the play "A Destruição de Nurlândia" (The Destruction of Nurlandia). The study is based on Bergson's view that laughter can function as a tool for social correction in the face of certain behaviors considered automatic. However, when exploring the digital space, it becomes clear that laughter on the internet has new functions and characteristics, such as fluidity, collective participation, and the possibility of social critique. Current authors such as Limor Shifman, Judith Butler, Vitor Chagas, Alexandre Werneck e Isabella Tavares Sozza Moraes help us understand how this digital humor goes beyond the rigidity of Bergson's theory, also becoming a form of communication, a new cultural language. Online humor finds a space for resistance, a place where people can show who they truly are, or at least who they want to appear to be on social media, and how they can construct that image. This research also highlights the social, political, and emotional role of laughter on the internet, showing that, more than correcting, online humor often asks questions, provokes, and also makes changes.
