Tempo, interioridade e morte: a poética existencial em "Canto de outono" e "Solidão na cidade", de Ruy Belo

Title: Tempo, interioridade e morte: a poética existencial em "Canto de outono" e "Solidão na cidade", de Ruy Belo
Abstract: In Ruy Belo’s work, poetry invokes a profound meditative step in relation to the flow of
meaning we give to things. Time, the everyday life that surrounds us, the space around us,
people are part of a construct that shapes, destroys, and rebuilds our perception of the world
and ourselves at every moment. Based on this, we aim to investigate the configuration of
lyricism present in the poems “Canto de outono” (Autumn Song) and “Solidão na cidade”
(Loneliness in the City), featured in the work Transporte no tempo (Transport in Time) by Ruy
Belo (2017), to unravel, in dialogue with Martin Heidegger’s phenomenological-hermeneutic
ontological method, a possible approach to human essence, in the sense of searching for this
lost meaning. To this end, we outlined a historical parameter on 20th-century Portuguese
literature, drawing on the studies of Eduardo Lourenço and Rosa Maria Martelo, in particular,
with a view to contextualizing the literary moment that Portugal was experiencing. In this
regard, we also note the essayist Ruy Belo (2002), in Na senda da poesia, a work in which he
exemplifies some of his perspectives on poíesis.

O signo arbitrário em Saussure e a norma convencional em Kelsen: encontros, desencontros e relação sistemática

Title: O signo arbitrário em Saussure e a norma convencional em Kelsen: encontros, desencontros e relação sistemática
Abstract: This work addresses a characteristic of Ferdinand de Saussure’s concept of language, namely, the arbitrariness of the sign, and Hans Kelsen’s conventionalism of the legal norm, highlighting convergences, divergences, and theoretical implications. The research demonstrates that both language and law can be understood as symbolic systems. In this study, we specifically examine the extent to which such systems can be compared, emphasizing the points of convergence and divergence, whose differences and interdependencies allow for a fruitful dialogue between the two fields of knowledge.

Title: Estrangeirismos no espaço gamer: o vocabulário de jogadores brasileiros de League of Legends
Abstract: In this article, we analyze the appropriation and use of loanwords by Brazilian players of the electronic game League of Legends. To this end, we adopt a qualitative and exploratory-descriptive approach, aiming to understand how terms originating from the English language are adapted and integrated into Portuguese within the gamer community. The corpus is composed of posts collected from the Reddit platform, considering utterances made between 2020 and 2025. The analysis focuses on phonological, morphological, and semantic adaptations, as well as on the appropriation and circulation of these borrowings in the discursive practices of Brazilian players. The results indicate the construction of a specific and shared vocabulary, which reveals not only the influence of linguistic globalization but also processes of group identification tied to the socio-historical and political-ideological role of English as the dominant language of digital culture.

Leitura e indeterminação: uma análise do conto “A Cidade”, de Murilo Rubião

Title: Leitura e indeterminação: uma análise do conto “A Cidade”, de Murilo Rubião
Abstract: This article proposes an analysis of the short story “A Cidade”, by the writer Murilo Rubião (1974-2010), moving away from a reading that seeks to systematize the narrative into labels, as is the case with the complex definition of what the “fantastic” is, and aiming at the reader’s own reading experience when coming into contact with such an indeterminate text. This work aims to highlight characteristics of the short story that evidence the text’s indeterminacy, enabling greater creative involvement of the reader in the construction of meanings, escaping transparency, obviousness and totalizing answers; in addition, it aims to propose the hypothesis that the wanderings of the main character, Cariba, may represent the journey of the reader of literature. With bibliographical excerpts based on some works about the “mineiro” author (Mello, 2016; Schwartz, 1976), in addition to a solid theoretical basis (Barthes, 2004; Calvino, 1990; Candido; 2023; Jouve, 2013; Petit, 2013; Piglia, 2004), the indeterminacy of the story is analyzed in three parts: the lack of information as we enter the narrative, the constant questions and the anguish of waiting. Finally, this article provided new reading paths for an author so stigmatized within the fantasy case, as well as a new perspective on a lesser-known short story, highlighting the importance of returning to these works with a firm commitment to reading, accepting the rules of the language game.
