Title: Entre arquivos e relatos: o laboratório de ensino de matemática do Instituto de Matemática e Estatística da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia enquanto território vivo de formação
Abstract: This work aims to perform a historiographical exercise on a possible movement of constitution of the Mathematics Teaching Laboratory (LEM) of the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the Federal University of Uberlândia (IME/UFU). It is based on the understanding that the constitution of a teaching laboratory does not occur in a linear or homogeneous way, but as a historical process marked by collective actions, institutional disputes, educational policies and different conceptions of teacher training. The research is based on the perspective of Oral History, as developed by the Oral History and Mathematics Education Group (GHOEM), and dialogues with historiographical assumptions that understand History as a situated and interpretative narrative. Methodologically, interviews were conducted with professors who participated, at different times, in the trajectory of the LEM, in addition to the analysis of institutional documents, minutes and records located in the UFU Archive of Dead. The interviews were transcribed and textualized, assuming the interpretative character of this process. The analysis of the narratives and documents allowed us to understand that the LEM was constituted as a space in permanent (re)configuration, crossed by different pedagogical conceptions, by moments of institutional strengthening and fragility, and by extension initiatives, initial and continuing training of teachers. It is concluded that the LEM/IME/UFU cannot be understood only as a physical space or storage of materials, but as a formative and political environment, whose history reveals movements of resistance, reinvention and commitment to teacher training in Mathematics.

Title: Entre o acaso e a inteligência: uma comparação entre investimentos na B3 baseados em aprendizado de máquina e o jogo da roleta
Abstract: This study aims to investigate the use of machine learning algorithms as support for medium-term investment strategies on the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3), comparing their percentage
performance with that of casino roulette betting systems. In this context, three supervised classification models are tested, namely: k-nearest neighbors (k-NN), decision tree, and random
forest. Thus, the signals generated by these models are employed in buy-only transactions of
the target assets — without any sell orders — allowing evaluation of their wealth multiplication
potential from the perspective of the risk-return trade-off inherent in the equity market. Regarding the assets analyzed, over 30 stocks comprising the Ibovespa index are initially examined;
at the end of this selection process, four of them — assessed on weekly and monthly price scales — are defined as the objects of study: VALE3, ITUB4, PETR4, and SBSP3. In parallel with
the computational modeling related to the stock market, a computational system based on the
probabilistic logic of casino roulette betting is implemented to establish a benchmark of random
nature for comparative purposes. Within this system, the Streets of Gold betting strategy is applied in pursuit of profit maximization and mitigation of the randomness effects inherent to the
game. The results indicate that, in absolute terms, no model demonstrates superiority across
all assets and time horizons; however, certain combinations achieve significantly higher returns
than the betting system under identical conditions of time (rounds) and available capital, delivering not only substantial financial gains but also lower exposure to wealth risk. Thus, this
study contributes to the existing academic literature by demonstrating the potential of machine
learning in formulating financial strategies that provide practical support to investors seeking
quantitative alternatives in highly volatile market scenarios. Additionally, it underscores the
purely recreational nature of betting systems.

Title: Estroboscopia digital: aplicações de interpolação e ajuste de curvas na educação básica
Abstract: This dissertation develops and validates an original educational product: a video-based kinematic analysis web app for inquiry-based teaching of Physics and Mathematics in Basic Education. It addresses the disconnect between the abstraction of school content and the concrete phenomena experienced by students through an interface that trans- forms audiovisual records of real motions into quantitative data, tables, graphs, and mathematical models. The study brings together Mathematics Education, mathemati- cal modeling, metacognition, digital technologies, and Design-Based Research, starting from the hypothesis that interaction with the software promotes investigation, hypothe- sis validation, and an integrated reading of multiple representation registers. From a mathematical standpoint, the system is grounded in the NyquistShannon Sampling Theorem, the Mean Value Theorem, polynomial interpolation, cubic splines, and the SavitzkyGolay filter, which underpin temporal discretization, trajectory reconstruction, and data smoothing. The product was developed and refined in iterative cycles and compared with the Tracker software in projectile motion experiments with different frame rates. The results show that the digital environment provides accuracy compara- ble to well-established tools, enhancing pedagogical accessibility, the transparency of mathematical procedures, and its potential for use in schools. It is concluded that the web app is a relevant contribution to inquiry-based teaching by integrating concrete ex- perience, mathematical modeling, and technological mediation, aligning with students scientific and mathematical education.

Title: Matemática financeira: despertando a consciência financeira em crianças e adolescentes
Abstract: Financial Mathematics plays a fundamental role in students’ education, as its concepts are directly related to everyday situations involving consumption, planning, and financial decision-making. However, its approach in Basic Education still faces challenges, particularly with regard to the contextualization of content and the availability of pedagogical materials that support teachers’ classroom practices. In this context, this study aims to develop didactic games and teaching sequences for the instruction of Financial Mathematics at different stages of Basic Education, with a focus on supporting teaching practice. The research has a propositional nature and adopts a qualitative approach, centered on the development of educational products applicable to the school context. Three original didactic games were developed — Mercadinho da Matemática, Família
emEquilíbrio, and Simulador de Investimentos — each accompanied by structured tea ching sequences designed to guide their use in the classroom. The application of two of these games in a school setting had a pedagogical and formative character, enabling the analysis of the contributions of the materials to the mobilization of Financial Mathematics concepts, decision-making processes, and student learning. The results indicate that the games and teaching sequences constitute viable and relevant pedagogical resources, contributing to the contextualization of Financial Mathematics teaching and to the support of teachers’ work in Basic Education.
