Memorial Acadêmico

Title: Memorial Acadêmico
Abstract: This Academic Memorial was prepared as a partial requirement for Promotion to the Class of Full Professor of the Brazilian Government Educational Career at the School of Dentistry of the Federal University of Uberlandia. It was presented to the Special Judging Committee in accordance with MEC Ordinance n. 982/2013 and UFU Board of Directors Ordinance n. 03/2017. It is not a detailed report. It consists mainly of reflections and impressions of the teaching, research, extension and administrative activities developed between 2008 and 2025, covering a period of 17 years as professor at three different Federal Universities (Federal University of Paraiba, Federal University of Juiz de Fora and Federal University of Uberlandia). It is concluded with reflections that not only close a cycle, but also outline perspectives of academic and institutional actions, renewing the commitment to the University and to the challenges that this new stage imposes.

Memorial Descritivo

Title: Memorial Descritivo
Abstract: This descriptive portfolio was prepared in accordance with Resolutions No. 03/2017 and SEI No. 05/2018 of the Governing Council, which regulate faculty evaluation for Progression, Promotion, and Acceleration in the Higher Education Teaching Career at the Federal University of Uberlândia. Designed to present my academic journey and career development over the past 40 years, this document meets the criteria for promotion from Associate Professor IV to Full Professor. Structured in seven parts, the portfolio is available in complementary formats: a traditional version (physical print or digital), featuring a formal textual genre, and a digital portfolio version, which adopts an innovative format with integrated technologies such as sound, video, and images, enriching the presentation of my activities across the pillars of teaching, administration, research, and outreach. The choice of a portfolio format was based on three main reasons: (1) adaptation to active teaching-learning methodologies and contemporary technologies, essential for integrating my 20th-century teaching training with the educational reality of 21st-century students; (2) the fact that constructivist, innovative, and active educational processes have been my area of study and research over the past 20 years as a teaching-research career professional; and (3) the desire to transcend traditional textual formats by incorporating diverse media — such as sound, photographs, diagrams, videos, and video lectures — illustrating my pedagogical practice in an increasingly digitalized and globalized context. Thus, this memorial portfolio not only narrates my
professional journey but also highlights the construction of an educational practice rooted in innovative methodologies, constantly engaging with the contemporary demands of higher education, aimed at cognitive, critical-reflective, inclusive, democratic, and compassionate development aligned with current academic and
social demands.
