Memorial para Promoção de Professor Titular na Carreira do Magistério Superior

Title: Memorial para Promoção de Professor Titular na Carreira do Magistério Superior
Abstract: In this Memorial, I present the most relevant aspects of my life trajectory and of my academic, professional, and institutional career, from my initial training to my current role as a faculty member at the School of Medicine of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). My trajectory has been progressively built through the integration of Pediatrics, Immunology, Allergy, and Inborn Errors of Immunity, articulating specialized care, teaching, research, human resource training, university management, and participation in scientific societies. I particularly highlight the structuring of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the UFU Clinical Hospital, including the creation of specialized outpatient clinics and the Medical Residency Program in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, as well as the incorporation of this unit into care pathways for rare diseases and newborn screening. In the field of research, I describe the consolidation of lines of investigation focused especially on food allergy and inborn errors of immunity, with scientific production resulting from projects developed in collaboration with undergraduate students, residents, graduate students, and national and international networks. I also report my activities in academic management, medical education through active learning methodologies, supervision of master’s and doctoral students, and leadership in scientific societies, especially the Brazilian Association of Allergy and Immunology and the Latin American Society for Immunodeficiencies. This Memorial thus summarizes a trajectory built at UFU and from UFU, guided by a commitment to public university education, the training of qualified professionals, the production of relevant knowledge, and the improvement of care for patients.

Title: Memorial descritivo para progressão para professor titular da carreira de magistério superior
Abstract: This memorial aims to present my personal, academic, and professional trajectory for promotion to the rank of Full Professor in the Higher Education Teaching Career at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). I obtained my medical degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, with specialization in Pediatrics from the Minas Gerais State Hospital Foundation, as well as a Master’s and a PhD from UFU. I built my academic career in the Medicine Program at this same institution, working in teaching, research, extension, academic management, and clinical practice. In teaching, I participated in several undergraduate courses linked to the Department of Pediatrics (DEPED), as well as in lato sensu graduate programs,
serving as a preceptor in the theoretical activities of the Medical Residency Program. I also
completed numerous technical and pedagogical training courses in the fields of Pediatrics and Education. In research, I was the author and co-author of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and presented several scientific works in the form of posters and
oral presentations. I supervised students in undergraduate research programs, academic leagues, extracurricular internships, as well as medical residents and specialization course final projects. I served on selection committees, public examinations for academic positions, and evaluation boards for undergraduate final projects, master’s dissertations, doctoral theses, and qualifying examinations. I carried out extension activities in the areas of primary and professional education, health promotion through home visits, oncology training, accident prevention, telemedicine, and dengue prevention initiatives. In academic management, I served as Coordinator of the Medical Residency Committee (COREME) of the Department of Pediatrics, Coordinator of the Internship Committee, and Coordinator of the Structuring Teaching Staff Committee. I collaborated on internal administrative, electoral, and curriculum reform committees, as well as on some committees external to UFU. I served as Acting Deputy Director of the School of Medicine and as Substitute Coordinator of COREME and DEPED. I prepared technical and advisory reports for the School of Medicine Council and the Medicine Program Coordination. I also worked in clinical care activities alongside students, interns, and residents in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and the emergency department of the UFU University Hospital. I believe I have made an effective contribution to the education of numerous professionals, consistently performing my duties with responsibility, commitment, and ethics, and reaffirming the transformative role of education in society.
