The research, of an exploratory nature, was conducted through a bibliographic review with a qualitative approach. Five articles published between 2020 and 2025 on the Google Scholar platform were selected, addressing games and play as central elements of the teaching and learning process. The analysis revealed that games and play, when intentionally and pedagogically planned, favor the child’s integral development, encompassing motor, cognitive, social, and emotional aspects. The texts analyzed highlight that play goes beyond mere entertainment, constituting an essential methodological resource for promoting meaningful learning, strengthening socialization, and contributing to the formation of identity and body culture of movement.
