Abstract: This research proposes to analyze the challenges of preserving the listed property
represented by the Church of Our Lady of the Presentation, located in the city of Porto Calvo,
Alagoas, based on a theoretical and critical foundation of national regulations aimed at the
protection and preservation of Cultural Heritage. The study aims to deepen the historical and
documentary knowledge about the Church of Our Lady of the Presentation, the motivations
that led to its listing as a heritage site, as well as to understand how the local community
relates to this secular Catholic Christian building in contemporary times, in order to offer
contributions to its conservation management. In this context, the importance of
understanding the dialectical relationship between permanence and change in the
preservation trajectory of the aforementioned Church is highlighted. To this end, a careful
look is taken at the diffusion of historical, architectural, artistic, and landscape values
associated with the property. The research is based on different approaches, using
documentary, pictorial, and cartographic sources, which not only describe but also condition
the perception of the place. These records highlight the natural conditions of the site where
the old village was established, its topography, and the architectural characteristics of some
buildings, including the location of the aforementioned Church, related to the process of
occupation and consolidation of the territory by the Portuguese. The proposed approach
covers the period from 1955 – the year the Church of Nossa Senhora da Apresentação was
listed as a heritage site – to the presente day.

Abstract: Within the Brazilian context, committed to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, urban mobility consolidates itself as a strategic axis of inquiry. The growing scientific concern over climate change drives research that articulates environmental preservation with displacement dynamics. In parallel, socioeconomic disparities, extensively documented in the literature, assert themselves as an urgent challenge for territorial planning in Brazil. It is observed that sustainability and social equity are intrinsic dimensions of urban development, directly impacting the right to the city and the promotion of collective well-being. Despite academic advances, a theoretical gap is noted in the correlation between these fields in medium-sized cities. In light of this problematic, the present study aimed to investigate the correlation between socioeconomic and socio-spatial inequalities and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by motor vehicles in commuting trips (home-to-work), with a focus on medium-sized cities. Beyond this finding, the research identifies the road segments with the highest pollutant load in Araguari (MG) and analyzes behavioral patterns associated with commuting. Methodologically, a case study was conducted in Araguari (MG), employing data from the IBGE and field surveys, processed through indices, graphs, and maps (origin-destination matrices). The sample considered a margin of error of 5 percentage points and a confidence level of 95%. The efficiency parameters adopted include trip length, the chosen transport mode, the Energy Consumption Index (ECI), and the Emissions Index (EI). The findings of this study corroborate the existing literature, indicating that higher-income population strata exhibit greater emission factors due to the predominance of private motorized transport. Furthermore, the results suggest that urban form exerts a determining influence on user behavior, holding the potential to shape commuting patterns. Finally, it is understood that this research provides data as fundamental inputs for planners and public managers in the formulation of policies aimed at quality of life and urban environmental resilience.

Sistemas construtivos mistos em aço e madeira na obra de Jean Prouvé: análise das técnicas de vedação em madeira

Title: Sistemas construtivos mistos em aço e madeira na obra de Jean Prouvé: análise das técnicas de vedação em madeira
Abstract: In recent decades, discussions about sustainability and efficient use of natural resources have intensified in the design of the Built Environment, especially given the environmental impacts associated with the life cycle of buildings. In this context, the potential of using wood in combination with other materials, such as steel, in the composition of mixed vertical fencing systems stands out. This combination allows for greater construction versatility, ease of maintenance and disassembly, reuse of components, and the application of wood in different
techniques — in its solid or industrialized form — expanding its suitability for different production contexts. This study aimed to analyze different techniques for vertical fencing systems in steel and wood developed by Jean Prouvé, identifying the key aspects that make these construction solutions applicable in the current context. This study is both theoretically and technically relevant, contributing to the deepening of research on mixed construction systems, still little discussed in the literature, and discussing possible paths for developing more rational and sustainable solutions in architecture. The methodology adopted involved bibliographic and documentary research, redesign and three-dimensional modeling of the selected works, and constructive experimentation using scale models created with the aid of 3D printing of components. This approach allowed us to understand the assembly logic, the relationships between materials, and the structural and formal behavior of the systems, enabling an integrated analysis of their technical, environmental, and socioeconomic dimensions. The results demonstrate that Prouvé's construction principles, based on rationalization, modularity, and disassembly, remain fully relevant when reinterpreted in light of currently available technologies and materials. The conclusion is that mixed steel and wood systems represent viable, sustainable, and adaptable construction solutions capable of reconciling technological innovation, material efficiency, and environmental responsibility,
reaffirming the relevance of Jean Prouvé's legacy in the face of the challenges of 21st-century construction.

Quando o território ensina: experiências de saberes afro-indígenas e populares na formação em arquitetura e urbanismo

Title: Quando o território ensina: experiências de saberes afro-indígenas e populares na formação em arquitetura e urbanismo
Abstract: The present work is based on the understanding that architecture and urbanism (AU) education has had a trajectory marked by Eurocentrism, an effect of the colonial process, often obliterating traditional Afro-Indigenous and popular knowledge and other modes of production of built space. However, it is observed that contemporary experiences have moved toward a redirection toward valuing this knowledge as fundamental to a more critical and pluralistic education. Thus, we seek to establish a sample of how traditional knowledge has been approached in contemporary AU education. To this end, we draw on the theoretical foundation of decolonial thought to understand the specificities of Latin America and conduct a historical-critical review of AU education, reiterating its history of erasing this knowledge. We then analyze the Pedagogical Course Projects of three case studies and subsequently report on experiences developed within these courses in partnership with traditional Afro-Indigenous communities.
