Sensibilidades em foco: a fotografia no ensino de História

Title: Sensibilidades em foco: a fotografia no ensino de História
Abstract: The present research has as its object of study the approximation and dialogue between photography and the teaching of History, based on the contributions of visual culture, the study os images and the history of educations of senses and sensibilities in the school context. It is based on the understanding that the gaze is not neutral, but historically constructed, and it is possible to work on it through classroom practices that mobilize sensitive and interpretative experiences. In this sense, the research sought to analyze the insertion of photography as a didatic mediation for historical learning, articulating theory and practice. Metodologically, the research promotes a reading of photography in a didatic exprience, making an evaluation of one’s own practice. A photography workshop was developed with students of the 8th grade of Elementary School, during History classes at Segismundo Pereira State School, in the city of Uberlândia – MG. This was structured in activities of production of images (photos) related to dimensions of the student’s daily lives – such as family, interpersonal relationships at school, and school spaces – conceived as experiences of observation, framing and giving meaning to lived experiences. The analytical approach was based on authors such as Roland Barthes, Ana Maria Mauad, Etienne Samain, Marcus Taborda Oliveira, among others, who made it possible to understand the image as a language, social practice, and sensory experience. By prioritizing photography and image interpretation as formative practices, the research questions the teaching of History beyond the content dimension, focusing on the construction of memories, meanings, and belonging in the school environment. Photography is thus approached as a pedagogical mediation and an exercise in educating the sense and the sensibilities, in which looking, recording, and interpreting constitute ways of relating to historical time, lived space, and the very experience of feeling like a historical subject.

Austeridade e fascismo: as marchas de junho em Uberlândia no ano de 2013.

Title: Austeridade e fascismo: as marchas de junho em Uberlândia no ano de 2013.
Abstract: This Final Paper aims to analyze, from the perspective of the "June Marches" of 2013—especially in Uberlândia—the State's repressive action against the protests, seeking the core actions and motives of certain government reactions, under economic, political, and legal epistemologies. It denounces how the State procedurally acted under the pretense of safeguarding austerity policies, structurally undermining popular mobilization and organization through an artificial State default. This is transfigured into a liberal bureaucratic administration aiming to reduce the public budget via cuts in Health and Education spending. To this end, headlines from two relevant newspapers of the period were collected as sources, enabling triangulation of the logic behind the narratives in those periodicals. To execute an empirical methodology, a tripartite analysis of events is provided, focusing on the chain of events by examining: protesters and their demands, police actions and reactions to the acts, and finally, the stance of executive public bodies. Thus, it denounces the Uberlândia Municipal Prefecture's moves to negotiate, segregate, undermine, and overpower any class-based or union struggles. Presenting austerity as essentially a class control tool in the present day.

Title: A importância dos instrumentos de pesquisa para a comunidade acadêmica: reflexões sobre os acervos e arquivos do centro de documentação e pesquisa em história -cdhis-ufu 2013-2023
Abstract: ABSTRACT: This undergraduate thesis aims to reflect on the importance of certais archival documents related to the Center for Documnetation and research in History at the Federal University of Uberlandia (CDHIS-UFU). Through these reflections, it seecks to present the archival trajectory of this institutional body, addressing the preservation of its cilective and individual memories. It also reflects on the practices carried out within this space, based on research conducted through the analysis of finding aids prepared between 2013 and 2023, specifically Guides and Inventories. To this end, and in loco survey is analyzed to identify how many instruments were produced during this period and which guidelines directed their creation. This work is developed within the theme “Finding Aids in Historical Archives”, which through this investigation, aims to understand the perspective of denaturalizing historical archives at CDHIS. The choice of this subject arises from the student’s participation, in 2023, in extension projects linked to the program Practces with Collections and Memory Preservation, under the coordenation of archivist Raphael Bahia do Carmo. It also stems from the handling of CDHIS archives, in collaboration with organizacion and digitization activities of the personal archive of Olivia Cabria. Furthermore, one of the purposes ofthis reseach is to examine the historical recognition of this documentation and highlight the trajectories of its respective holders, ultimately proposing the creation of iconographic material from these collections.
Notes: (...)

Abstract: This final undergraduate thesis aims to analyze the narratives present in the articles of National
Geographic Brazil magazine by comparing those written by Brazilian authors with those written
by foreign authors. This analysis was made possible by a prior cataloging of the magazines
from the years 2000 to 2004, which sought to summarize and optimize this stage of the activity.
Through this investigation, the study sought to understand what was being said, the motivations,
and the means employed by the authors to do so. To this end, the work is divided into two parts.
The first is dedicated to presenting the catalog and its construction, followed by an analysis of
these narratives through the examination of texts and photographs. The second part is devoted
to reflection and discussion of these themes in the classroom, proposing a didactic sequence to
be implemented in High School History classes. Thus, this research primarily aims to contribute
to the debate on narratives that intertwine environment and History in National Geographic
Brasil.
