Abstract: Impro as a theatrical language is given by the use of improvisation to articulate and develop a show during its presentation in the presence of the audience. The improviser acts, “writes” and directs the scene simultaneously. This thesis addresses the particularities of Directing Impro, from Directing prior to Directing that is established in a collective and collaborative way by those who improvise in the very act of improvisation on stage. Due to the scarcity of material referring to the research focus, the research methodology was based on general bibliographic analysis, the creation and analysis of questionnaires for professionals and students in the area, debate tables and a case study based on the show, “I am the Storm”, specially created to test the devices developed in the research. Four devices were raised and tested, namely: recognition, repetition, opposition and balance (with temperance). The research was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic, suffering direct consequences of this moment that affected the methodology and approach of writing the thesis.</summary>
