Abstract: This Descriptive Memorial presents a description of the most relevant milestones in my professional career, beginning with my admission to the undergraduate program in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FEQUI) of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), continuing through my postgraduate studies and culminating in my professional activities at FEQUI/UFU. In summary, it outlines the activities I have undertaken throughout my journey in the areas of Teaching, Research, and Academic Administration. I began my undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at UFU in 1997, joining the first cohort under the annual academic calendar. I earned the title of Chemical Engineer in 2002, due to two strikes that occurred during the program. Soon after, I began a Master’s degree at FEQUI/UFU, earning the degree in 2004 in the area of Algebraic-Differential Optimal Control. That same year, I started my Ph.D. at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FEMEC) at UFU, in the area of Engineering Systems Design, which I completed in 2008. In 2009, I undertook a Junior Postdoctoral Fellowship in the same area as my doctoral studies. In the second semester of 2009, after passing a public examination, I joined the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ), at the Ouro Branco campus. In early 2010, I passed another public examination and returned to FEQUI/UFU as a faculty member. Since then, I have taught various courses in the undergraduate programs in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry. Regarding postgraduate education, I am currently a member of two programs: the Mathematical Modeling and Optimization Program at the Federal University of Catalão, and the Mechanical Engineering Program at UFU. Throughout my academic career, I have supervised undergraduate theses, scientific initiation projects, master’s dissertations, doctoral theses, and postdoctoral research. I have also served on examination committees for undergraduate theses, public faculty selection processes, as well as master’s and doctoral defenses. I have published scientific articles in academic journals, participated in scientific conferences with published papers, contributed chapters to books, took part in editing a scholarly volume, and authored books. I have coordinated both research and teaching projects and collaborated on several research initiatives. I have been honored with scientific merit awards. I have participated in various committees at FEQUI/UFU, with particular emphasis on the Degree Recognition Committee. I have also been active in academic administration, serving on the Faculty Council, the Undergraduate Program Committee, and the Curriculum Structuring Committee. I was the coordinator of the Process Modeling, Simulation, Control, and Optimization Group and served as the Deputy Coordinator of the undergraduate program in Chemical Engineering. Abstract: This memorial presents the teaching, research, administrative, and university outreach activities carried out by me, LUÍS CLÁUDIO OLIVEIRA LOPES, Associate Professor (level 4) at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU).
The structure of this document is organized into the following chapters: Chapter 1 introduces the purpose and organization of this memorial. Chapter 2 briefly outlines my professional background, from the early stages of my academic training to the present day. Chapter 3 describes the academic activities I have undertaken in teaching, research, administration, and extension throughout my career to date.
