Abstract: In this memorial, I present a detailed retrospective of my professional and academic trajectory, revisiting the path taken from the early stages of my training to the present moment - a journey culminating in my consolidation as a faculty member at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). This document is not merely a formal requirement for promotion to the rank of Full Professor - the pinnacle of the teaching career in Brazilian federal universities - but rather a living record of sixteen years of dedication to the public university and to the production of knowledge. In drafting these pages, I sought to revisit memories, data, and significant results. My primary aim in providing this level of detail is for the work presented here to transcend mere evaluative formality and serve as an account—particularly for faculty members who have recently joined the teaching profession at a public university. Thus, my intention was not simply to list my output, but to present a critical perspective on everything I have experienced over these years as a faculty member at the Federal University of Uberlândia. I believe that the teaching career, especially when pursued with a commitment to social impact, is one of the most powerful instruments for transforming individuals and realities; it is capable of realizing dreams, fostering critical thinking, and proposing technological and scientific solutions for society. My journey is defined by significant experiences that continuously reinforce one another: the classroom inspires research; research informs outreach; and administration is essential to making teaching and research possible. I conclude this memorial by sharing reflections on my vision and experience in higher education. Abstract: This document presents in detail the professional journey of Professor Aniel Silva de
Morais, currently a member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Federal University
of Uberlândia. This memorial was prepared as part of the requirements for his promotion to
Class E, also known as “Titular” Professor, within the higher education career track. Over the
course of 16 years dedicated to federal public service, Professor Aniel has significantly
contributed to undergraduate and graduate education, covering subjects in Electrical
Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computing, Telecommunications, and Control and
Automation Engineering. Since 2019, he has been a permanent faculty member of the Graduate
Program in Electrical Engineering (PPGEELT). His academic journey began with his technical
training at SENAI, advancing through undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies in Power
Electronics. Throughout his career, he has not only taught at both undergraduate and graduate
levels but also supervised several students and coordinated research projects funded by
research agencies. He served as the coordinator of the Control and Automation Engineering
program and, as the local coordinator of the Brafitec project from 2015 to 2018 contributing to
promoting international student mobility. Additionally, his publications in national and
international journals and conferences, along with his extension projects, underscore his
commitment to academic excellence, research, and service to both the academic community
and society at large. His active involvement in various committees, examination boards,
academic supervision, scholarly output, together with his role in collegiate bodies and as an
undergraduate program coordinator, demonstrates his dedication that extends beyond the three
