    <summary type="text">Title: Análise fitoquímica e caracterização do óleo essencial de folhas e frutos de Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi
Abstract: Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi is a native Brazilian species widely distributed and recognized for the presence of secondary metabolites of biological interest. This study aimed to quantify total phenolic and flavonoid contents, relate them to antioxidant activity, and evaluate the yield and chemical composition of the essential oil extracted from the leaves and fruits of the species. Plant material was collected at the Pontal Campus of the Federal University of Uberlândia, dried, ground, and subjected to phytochemical analysis. Total phenolic compounds were determined using the Folin–Ciocalteu method, total flavonoids by spectrophotometric analysis, and antioxidant activity by the DPPH radical scavenging assay. Essential oil was obtained by hydrodistillation using a Clevenger-type apparatus and chemically characterized by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results showed that the leaves presented higher contents of phenolic compounds and flavonoids, as well as greater antioxidant activity when compared to the fruits. In contrast, the fruits exhibited a higher essential oil yield. Chromatographic analysis allowed partial identification of the chemical constituents, with a high percentage of unidentified compounds in both samples, indicating analytical limitations. Differences in the chemical profile of essential oils between leaves and fruits were observed, suggesting the influence of the plant organ and environmental factors. These findings indicate that leaves and fruits of Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi differ in phytochemical composition, antioxidant activity, and essential oil profile.</summary>

The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has caused a great deal of harm in various spheres of society, especially education. A growing number of students with problems of motivation, socialization and indiscipline. It is therefore necessary to reflect and provide opportunities for new methodologies to emerge. Gamification its high potential to engage, motivate and improve results in the classroom. results in the classroom. However, it can be seen that gamification is still used in a shallow way by teachers in public basic education institutions. Based on this assumption, the general objective of this study is to analyze the main obstacles preventing the of gamification in public schools in the municipality of Ituiutaba, in the state of Minas Gerais. After applying the questionnaire in person at public schools and also online using Google Forms, we were able to interview 44 teachers in total, and came to the conclusion that the majority of teachers have already used gamification as a teaching tool, with 97.7%. teaching tool, with 97.7% of teachers believing that it is possible to learn content while having fun. content while having fun, but 97.7% of teachers reported obstacles that hinder the inclusion of the the inclusion of the methodology, mainly related to the absence of training (55.8%) and physical resources (51.2%), indiscipline (46.5%), short time (44.2%) and crowded classrooms (37.2%).</summary>

    <title>A percepção popular sobre serpentes e a importância da educação ambiental: um estudo em Ituiutaba-MG</title>

    <summary type="text">Title: A percepção popular sobre serpentes e a importância da educação ambiental: um estudo em Ituiutaba-MG
Abstract: According to the World Health Organization, snakebite accidents are categorized as “neglected tropical diseases,” affecting 5.4 million people annually. However, in Brazil, there are around 200 fatal cases per year caused by snakebite accidents. In 2023, all notifications of species responsible for snakebite accidents totaled 28,067, with 124 deaths in the same year. In other words, there is a greater chance of being a victim of another human being than of a snakebite accident in the country. However, the public’s perception of snakes is completely biased by fear and lack of information. Therefore, research measuring public knowledge and environmental education projects are of utmost importance to mitigate accidents and prevent biodiversity loss. Participants were asked whether they had ever encountered snakes and whether they had had experiences with them. Fifty-three reported having seen snakes in their homes, and 63 participants had some kind of experience with snakes, representing almost half of all respondents. Most positive experiences occurred among university students, while the highest concentration of negative experiences was among children. When asked about fear of snakes, the predominant answer was “yes” in all groups, attributing negative characteristics to these animals such as persecution, ability to bite, bad luck, among other terms, as well as myths. Among the myths reported, notable ones included snakes stealing milk from breastfeeding mothers, persecuting relatives, or bringing bad luck associated with this group of animals. Regarding extension activities, in the children’s group, biological material proved to be an extremely effective tool for learning, as well as interventions. Opportunities to answer questions and discussion circles were very well received among the adult audience. The curiosity of both adults and children toward snakes was also noted. Therefore, it is extremely important to inform the population about the diversity of snakes in the region, demystify superstitions, and provide guidance on how to deal with potentially dangerous species. Socio-environmental outreach activities are very well received and can greatly contribute to public learning.</summary>
