Abstract: The research that generated the article refers to a scientific initiation sponsored by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) on the Profile of families served by the Public Defender's Office (DPMG), in processes of removal of family power. Using a semi-structured questionnaire with 34 questions, data was collected from medical records by DPMG interns, from 15 cases treated from March/2020 to March/2021. The variables that were identified in the research were: responsible for children in processes of loss of family power; age group; Education; Color self-declaration; type of residence, social program in which it is attended; neighborhood of residence; income of these families. The research identifies that those responsible are users of psychoactive substances and this factor is the most common among the cases researched. The majority accept treatment, and are referred to OSC Amor Exigente. Children or adolescents who suffered the loss of family power were provisionally referred to the Welcoming Family program and others were placed in the Extended Family, in the majority of cases having a history of physical violence.

Abstract: This final project addresses the topic "The Influence of Work on University Dropout," focusing on the factors that lead students to drop out of institutions. The main objective of the research was to analyze how work influences university dropout and understand whether this is a major driver of student dropout, considering the need for capital gains to support themselves. The methodology used for this work was exploratory, based on qualitative and bibliographic research. The results indicate that work does influence university dropout, and that extensive work hours ultimately make students feel unwell. Furthermore, the right to education that every citizen should have, along with the importance of knowledge and critical thinking, was discussed. Furthermore, the alienation caused by the need for capital in society ultimately leads individuals to seek and engage in work to earn an income, ultimately neglecting their studies due to the long hours of work. Thus, it was concluded that understanding these factors is extremely important for formulating policies that support and influence students' continued studies and that demonstrate the importance of the search for knowledge for the individual.

Title: O neoliberalismo e a atuação profissional do (a) assistente social na política de assistência social
Abstract: This article aims to initiate brief problematizations about the impacts of neoliberalism that shape the actions of Brazilian governments in the implementation of social rights and, consequently, create a set of challenges in the professional practice of Social Workers, especially those working in the Social Assistance Policy, between the years 1990 and 2022. The main objective is to understand how neoliberalism affects the provision and guarantee of social rights, with emphasis on those ensured by the Social Assistance Policy and, consequently, on the professional practice within this Social Policy. To achieve our objectives, the research adopted a qualitative and bibliographic approach, based on legislation, scientific articles, and official documents related to the Social Assistance Policy. The results reveal that neoliberal-oriented governments (Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Temer, and Bolsonaro) prioritized fiscal adjustment, privatization, and the dismantling of social policies, negatively impacting the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) and professional practice. On the other hand, center-left governments (Lula and Dilma) expanded social programs and strengthened social protection, although with structural limitations of a neoliberal nature. It is concluded that neoliberalism weakens the Social Assistance Policy by transferring state responsibilities to the private sector, worsening labor precariousness and restricting access to rights. The importance of a critical and ethical stance by social workers is emphasized, as well as the mobilization of the category in defense of public policies.
