Title: Entre estradas e termos: a dinâmica lexical e cultural das caminhoneiras e caminhoneiros brasileiros em perspectiva terminológica
Abstract: The present study is dedicated to the analysis of the lexical universe of Brazilian truck drivers, understanding language as a central element in the construction of their professional identity and culture. The qualitative and bibliographic-documentary research aimed to fill an academic gap by systematizing and describing the "boleia" lexicon, which is manifested in a rich tapestry of terms, slang, jargon, and nicknames. The research is based on a solid theoretical framework that articulates the perspectives of Lexicology (Biderman, 1978; Bechara, 2000), Terminology (Finatto; Krieger, 2004; Sales, 2007), Terminography (Finatto; Krieger, 2004), and Sociolinguistics (Etto & Carlos, 2017; Bagno, 2004). The methodology was based on analyzing a documentary corpus extracted from digital media and specialized publications, which culminated in the creation of a descriptive terminographical vocabulary. The results show that this vocabulary, besides facilitating technical communication, expresses the group's worldview and strengthens the bonds of belonging, giving voice, in particular, to the resilience and pioneering spirit of women who paved the roads and reconfigured the professional landscape. The analysis also reflects the historical transformations of the profession, such as the evolution of the term "truck driver" (Kapron, 2012). The attached vocabulary, the final product of this work, constitutes a valuable tool that promotes the linguistic and cultural heritage of a professional class of inestimable importance to Brazilian society.

Title: O processamento linguístico de expressões idiomáticas por surdos usuários de Libras como L1: um estudo piloto
Abstract: This experimental work presents a pilot study designed to investigate the processing of Brazilian Portuguese idiomatic expressions by deaf adults who are native users of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). The research is based on studies on the linguistic processing of Brazilian Portuguese and adopts assumptions of experimental psycholinguistics as a methodological foundation. We propose a remote data collection methodology, using the PCIbex software, with the application of a self-paced reading task. The pilot study's main purpose is to assess the viability of the experimental design, serving as a starting point for reflection and improvements before the final data collection. The pilot aimed to: (1) verify whether the task follows the expected flow, and (2) identify potential response time (RT) trends among different participant profiles. The pilot task was carried by four professors from the Federal University of Uberlândia, two deaf and two hearing. The results suggest that the experimental material is largely functional and compatible with the research objectives, although there are still aspects to be reviewed and improved, as discussed throughout this work.

Title: A titulação no gênero notícia: uma proposta de análise sob a perspectiva da linguística textual
Abstract: This study investigates headline construction in the news genre from the perspective of Text Linguistics, understanding the headline as a key element in meaning-making and in the interaction between text and reader. The research assumes that headlines not only indicate the topic of the text, but also reflect the author’s intentionality, influencing the reader’s interpretation and engagement. Grounded in the concepts of referentiation as discussed by Mondada (2002), Cavalcante (2011), and Koch (2011), and supported by discursive and cognitive analysis of text processing, this study offers an in-depth reflection on titling mechanisms and their implications in both media and educational contexts
The methodology adopted a qualitative approach to analyze a corpus of news articles from the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, related to the fire that occurred at the Kiss Nightclub in January 2013. Discursive strategies were identified that reveal the influence of authorial intentionality in the formulation of headlines, demonstrating that they function as persuasive tools, creating expectations about the text’s content. The findings indicate that news headlines can shape readers’ perceptions throughout the textual progression, actively contributing to meaning construction and the argumentative positioning of the narrative’s agents.
Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of addressing headline construction in reading and writing education, enabling students to develop more critical and conscious interpretive skills. Understanding the structure, functions, and effects of headlines in news texts allows for the identification of persuasive and inferential strategies that can significantly influence how information is received. In conclusion, the study argues that headline instruction should be systematically incorporated into the school environment, contributing to the formation of reflective readers who are attentive to the discursive effects of media texts. Future research may explore the didactic application of titling and its influence on the development of written argumentation.
