Abstract: Surface water availability exhibits spatial and temporal variability,
making probabilistic studies involving these variables extremely important for
water planning and management, agricultural activities, urban planning, and other
activities. This study applied the three-parameter Log-Normal model (LN- 3P) to
estimate minimum flows Q7,10, and Q90 at four fluviometric stations in the Upper
Paraopeba River basin (MG). The goodness-of-fit of the distribution was validated
by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) and Chi-Square (λ2) tests at the 5% significance
level, and no significant trends in rainfall were detected. The results reinforce the
effectiveness of the LN-3P for water management in basins with limited data and
indicate the need to revise the granting criteria in light of hydrological variability

Abstract: This article analyzes the historical-geographical process behind the creation of Gávea Municipal Park, located in the southern sector of Uberlândia (MG), focusing on its impacts on urban development and its potential use as a pedagogical resource in Geography education at the basic education level. The study emerges from the observed lack of public knowledge about the park and argues that urban parks can function as " field class." The methodology involved exploratory visits, documentary analysis, and theoretical reflection. The article contextualizes the park's creation as an environmental compensation measure linked to real estate expansion and discusses the unequal spatial distribution of parks across the city and the symbolic implications of their use.
