Title: Filmedança XequeMate: um memorial artístico
Abstract: This Course Completion Work consists of a reflective account on the creation of the dance film
XequeMate, developed by me in the Bachelor of Dance program at the Federal University of
Uberlândia - MG, where I was supervised by Prof. Dr. Alexandre José Molina in the Supervised
Internship of Body/Performance Workshop, and by Carolina Minozzi in the Body Practices
component. Its objective is to show how my experiences with racismo, understood as a system
of discrimination based on race, which manifests in visible or invisible practices and generates
inequalities were transformed into material for artistic creation, especially in XequeMate. These
experiences motivated a dialogue with dance and Black dramaturgy, understood as a bodily
construction in relation to ancestry. In this context, artistic practice functions as an instrument
of denunciation, articulating the political, in resisting racism; the social, in sharing the
experiences of the Black community; and the aesthetic, in audiovisual creation, in an art-life
relationship, in which both manifest together and cannot be separated, showing how my
awakening to Blackness characterized by the process of awareness and affirmation of Black
identity in the face of whitening strategies is reflected in the art I produce.

Abstract: The main objective of this Thesis was to identify whether dancers with physical, visual, and hearing disabilities, aged 16 and older, residing in the city of Uberlândia/MG, are interested in pursuing a degree in dance and if they face difficulties in achieving this goal. The research has a qualitative approach, with an analytical perspective based on ethnography. The specific objectives are: a) to identify and list students with physical, auditory, and visual disabilities, starting at age 16, who study dance in Uberlândia; b) to conduct interviews with these individuals to find out if they are interested in pursuing a degree in dance at UFU; c) to analyze, based on participant observation and the responses given in semi-structured interviews, whether these individuals face any difficulties in pursuing a degree in dance, what their socioeconomic/family context is, what their experience in dance is, and whether there is an interest in pursuing a degree at UFU. Within the scope of the research, three people were interviewed, whose information supported the reflections presented in the text. The starting point for these reflections was the questions that specified the research problems. Conducting this research made it possible to identify that to reach a university dance course, a person with a disability needs to overcome various obstacles still present in multiple social spaces. It was also noted that despite various inclusion policies existing at UFU, there has been little interest from people with disabilities living in the city in pursuing a degree in dance.
