Title: O papel da retrodica e da profundidade na memória operacional visual
Abstract: Visual working memory (VWM) has been predominantly studied using two-dimensional
stimuli, overlooking the three-dimensional nature of the visual environment. This study
investigated the role of stereoscopic depth (anaglyphs) and of the retro-cue on VWM
performance, across two complementary experiments (N=25 each), using ideograms and
irregular polygons as stimuli. In Experiment 1, depth was applied to the stimuli themselves; in
Experiment 2, exclusively to the retro-cue, with the stimuli remaining two-dimensional.
Accuracy, reaction time, sensitivity (d'), and criterion (c) were analyzed through
repeated-measures ANOVA. In Experiment 1, depth in the stimuli benefited accuracy
symmetrically, both in front of and behind the reference plane, and increased discriminative
sensitivity more markedly when disparity was crossed; the two-dimensional condition
produced the poorest performance on both measures. In Experiment 2, the benefit of the valid
retro-cue generalized to accuracy, reaction time, sensitivity, and criterion; depth applied to the
retro-cue itself specifically sped up reaction time — slowest precisely in the fully
two-dimensional condition —, without reliably affecting accuracy or sensitivity. These
findings suggest that depth serves distinct functions depending on the point in the cognitive
chain at which it is introduced: as an object property, it enriches and individuates the memory
trace; as a cue property, it amplifies the attentional salience of selection — contributing a
context-dependent answer to the object-based versus space-based memory debate.

Title: Responsabilização e recursos no trabalho acadêmico: condições para a saúde mental e a permanência de mulheres em áreas STEM
Abstract: In the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), adverse working conditions intersect with gender inequalities that restrict women’s access to recognition, opportunities, and the resources necessary for career retention. Nevertheless, research on gender inequalities in STEM and psychological distress in academia has developed largely in parallel, and their intersection remains underexplored, particularly in Latin America. Organized as a collection of two articles, the first article of this dissertation investigated factors associated with psychological distress and strategies to address them through a scoping review guided by the JBI and PRISMA-ScR, with searches conducted across eight databases between 2015 and 2025, resulting in 23 studies. The review identified structural and career-related factors and relational and intersectional factors, as well as a scarcity of intervention evaluations. The second article investigated how gender inequalities and working conditions are associated with mental health and career retention through an instrumental mixed-methods case study, predominantly qualitative, conducted with 13 women faculty members in STEM at a Brazilian public university. Data were generated through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and post-interview records and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Reflexive Thematic Analysis, informed by Gendered Organizations Theory, Social Role Theory, and Conservation of Resources Theory, with intersectionality serving as an analytical lens. The study indicated that work organization, recognition and belonging dynamics, and unequal resource distribution contribute to psychological strain, while responsibility for coping with this strain is individualized, and these findings informed the development of a multilevel shared responsibility framework. The findings indicate that the mental health and career retention of women academics in STEM are shaped by the conditions under which academic work is organized, while responsibility for sustaining mental health and retention remains individualized, reinforcing the need for organizational transformation and shared responsibility among different actors within the university context.

Title: O sujeito contemporâneo e a lógica da visibilidade: solidão, espetacularização e captura pulsional na era digital
Abstract: This dissertation investigates how contemporary transformations of the body image, mediated by digital culture and neoliberal rationality, affect the constitution of the subject and their strategies for recognition. Departing from a concern regarding 'affective exhaustion' and paralysis in the face of excessive visual stimuli, the study questions how the exhibition of the body under performance imperatives becomes a form of subjective commodification. A thesis-by-articles model is adopted, grounded in the framework of Psychoanalysis in Extension. The methodological path consists of a theoretical-conceptual-critical analysis, articulating the foundations of Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis with Guy Debord's social critique and the moral economy of neoliberalism. The work is organized into three complementary studies: the first addresses the paradoxes of hyperconnection and the feeling of solitude in the virtual universe; the second analyzes the 'body-showcase' through the scopic drive and the Imaginary; and the third investigates the management of psychic suffering as a performance failure under performative logic. The central hypothesis maintains that the contemporary subject is captured by a logic of visibility in which existence appears conditioned upon its conversion into a commodity for the gaze of the Other. It is concluded that digital and neoliberal discourse captures the drive for self-exploitation purposes, demanding new clinical perspectives on the malaise in culture.

Title: Criança assentada: a escuta psicanalítica como um dispositivo no território
Abstract: This research investigates the constitution of childhood in the "Glória Settlement" (Élisson Prieto neighborhood), in Uberlândia-MG, Brazil. The main objective is to understand, through psychoanalysis in dialogue with critical geography and decolonial thought, the articulation of the child's subjective experience with material conditions of poverty and precariousness. The figuration of the "Settled Child" (Criança Assentada) emerges as an ethical and epistemological operator that questions hegemonic models and normative ideals of the "Universal Child," highlighting the intersectionalities of race, class, and territoriality. Aiming to understand the interplay of forces and truths governing the bodies of children in situations of social vulnerability, I sought to explore, through intervention-research, the relationship between the children and the settlement territory, as well as the community actions that built coping strategies against rights violations in the neighborhood's vicinity. The methodological approach is based on cartographic intervention-research, involving participation in the institutional daily life of the NGO "ABC do Glória," individual clinical sessions with one child, and the conduction of "Play Groups" with eight children residing in the neighborhood. Field diaries, photographic records, and the construction of "spoken maps" by the children were used as recording instruments, allowing for the cartography of the neighborhood based on symbolic categories such as danger, fun, and care. The data produced during the research reveal that the territory acts as a subjectivity operator, where material precariousness and urban exclusion produce the logic of sociopolitical suffering. The dissertation encompasses the following axes of analysis: a) structural racism and socio-spatial inequality mark the bodies and discourses enunciated by the children; b) playing as a discursive act and form of resistance, highlighting children as producers of culture and occupants of public and political spaces in the city; c) the community production of an informal care network, composed of neighbors, Indigenous, and religious leaders, which sustains life in the face of the failure of public institutions. Finally, this work supports the recognition of childhood as a geopolitical category, and asserts that the listening device in the territory, supported by psychoanalysis, reaffirms the child as a political subject capable of influencing and transforming the social bond.
