    <summary type="text">Title: Uso da água ozonizada para descontaminação de roscas de implantes dentários: avaliação microbiológica in vitro por meio da técnica de hibridização de checkerboard DNA- DNA
Abstract: Ozone therapy has been increasingly emphasized in dentistry, particularly due to its strong antimicrobial potential, with the additional advantage of not inducing microbial resistance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro decontamination effect of ozonated water (O₃ water) on the surface of dental implant threads previously contaminated with multispecies biofilm. A total of 18 conical titanium implants with internal hexagon connection (4.0 mm in diameter × 5.0 mm in length) were used and allocated into three groups: O₃ Water Group –ozonated bidistilled water at a concentration of 60 µg/mL (n = 6); CHX Group – 0.12% chlorhexidine digluconate solution (n = 6); and PBS Group – phosphate-buffered saline solution (PBS) (n = 6). The biofilm was developed over six days, after which the implants were analyzed using the DNA–DNA checkerboard hybridization technique to quantify microorganisms according to Socransky complexes. The results demonstrated that the O₃ Water Group exhibited lower proportions of bacterial species associated with disease-related Socransky complexes (orange and red complexes – 3.6%) compared with the CHX (19.1%) and PBS (37.1%) groups (P &lt; 0.00001). Furthermore, the bacterial load associated with disease was significantly reduced (P &lt; 0.00001) in the O₃ Water Group (Orange: 64.5 × 10⁵; Red: 0.4 × 10⁵) compared to the CHX (Orange: 41.9 × 10⁵; Red: 200 × 10⁵) and PBS (Orange: 117.1 × 10⁵; Red: 526 × 10⁵) groups. It can be concluded that ozonated water exhibited significant antimicrobial activity, promoting the reduction of periodontopathogenic bacterial species on implant surfaces in vitro. These findings suggest its potential as an adjunctive agent for microbiological control of periimplantitis, providing a relevant basis for future clinical studies.</summary>

    <summary type="text">Title: Avaliação da proporcionalidade da atividade elétrica dos músculos masseter e temporal em homens com bruxismo
Abstract: As an active part of the stomatognathic system, the muscles receive a great deal of attention&#xD;
and prominence, especially the temporal and masseter muscles, when it comes to chewing and&#xD;
the physiological repositioning of the jaw. Commonly, these functions cause fatigue and/or&#xD;
myalgia. As both muscles have the function of raising the jaw, the masseter is considered an&#xD;
agonist, while the temporalis in its anterior fibers is a synergist, acting with different work&#xD;
intensities. Bruxism is a relevant factor for the excessive work of the masseter and temporalis&#xD;
muscles. Thus, the objective of this study is to evaluate the proportionality of electrical activity,&#xD;
through electromyographic examination, of the masseter and temporal muscles in their anterior&#xD;
portion in men with already diagnosed bruxism. Ten male volunteers participated in this study,&#xD;
divided into two groups: G1 with non-bruxist volunteers (n=5) and G2 with bruxist volunteers&#xD;
(n=5). For both groups, muscle activity was recorded in three situations: 1) maximum habitual&#xD;
intercuspation (MIH), 2) chewing, and 3) rest. Electromyographic signals were collected using&#xD;
surface electrodes, recorded on a computerized electromyograph, and processed using specific&#xD;
software. All data were analyzed in relation to root mean square (RMS) values and subjected&#xD;
to statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney test with p&lt;0.05. The results indicated that, in&#xD;
situations of MIH and chewing, the anterior temporal muscle presented mean RMS values&#xD;
higher than those of the masseter in both groups, contrary to the initial hypothesis of masseter&#xD;
predominance as an agonist muscle. At rest, bruxist volunteers had mean masseter values&#xD;
approximately twice those recorded in the non-bruxist group, suggesting muscle hyperactivity&#xD;
associated with parafunctional behavior. Statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney test&#xD;
revealed no statistically significant difference in any of the crossings evaluated (p&gt;0.05). It is&#xD;
concluded that the electromyographic activity of the masseter was not proportionally higher&#xD;
than that of the anterior temporalis in the functional conditions evaluated, and that the small&#xD;
sample size, the use of self-reporting for bruxism classification, and the absence of distinction&#xD;
between centric and eccentric bruxism may have influenced the results, reinforcing the need for&#xD;
studies with larger samples and more precise diagnostic criteria.</summary>

    <summary type="text">Title: Distribuição da experiência de cárie e do acesso à água canalizada segundo o perfil  étnico-racial em adolescentes de 12 anos em Minas Gerais
Abstract: The fluoridation of public water supplies is a key collective health strategy in Brazil. This study &#xD;
aimed to describe the distribution of dental caries experience and access to piped water &#xD;
according to ethno-racial profiles among 12-year-old adolescents in the state of Minas Gerais, &#xD;
based on data from the SB Brasil 2023 survey. This is a descriptive cross-sectional &#xD;
epidemiological study with a quantitative approach, based on secondary data from the National &#xD;
Oral Health Survey (SB Brasil 2023). The reporting followed the STROBE and RECORD &#xD;
guidelines. Descriptive analyses were performed, presenting absolute and relative frequencies, &#xD;
using JAMOVI software. It was observed that 94% of adolescents had access to piped water in &#xD;
at least one room of the household. The proportion of restricted access to water was higher &#xD;
among self-declared black adolescents (7,7%) compared to white adolescents (3,2%). &#xD;
Similarly, caries experience was more frequent among black adolescents (61,5%) than among &#xD;
white adolescents (36,8%). In conclusion, there are disparities in the distribution of dental caries &#xD;
experience and access to piped water according to ethno-racial profiles in the state of Minas &#xD;
Gerais. These findings contribute to the state’s epidemiological landscape and indicate the need &#xD;
for future analytical studies to further explore these relationships.</summary>

    <title>Manejo cirúrgico de disfunção temporomandibular pós cirurgia ortognática bimaxilar: Relato de caso clínico</title>

    <summary type="text">Title: Manejo cirúrgico de disfunção temporomandibular pós cirurgia ortognática bimaxilar: Relato de caso clínico
Abstract: Orthognathic surgery is one of the main resources used to correct dentofacial deformities, helping to achieve a functional balance between the maxillary bone bases. However, the impact of this surgery on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and on symptoms related to temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) is still debated in the literature, especially in patients who already have joint alterations before the procedure. This paper presents a case of a young patient who, after undergoing bimaxillary orthognathic surgery, presented with intense bilateral pain in the temporomandibular joint; and after clinical evaluation based on the DC/TMD criteria and analysis by imaging exams (CT scan and MRI), bilateral disc displacement without reduction, trismus with limitation of opening, laterality, and protrusion movements were found. The patient underwent bilateral discoplexy, showing significant improvement in pain symptoms and satisfactory functional recovery.</summary>
